CAROLINA MAZZOLARI (b.1981)

Carolina Mazzolari, born in 1981 in Milan, Italy, is a London-based artist renowned for her multidisciplinary approach, encompassing textile manipulation, printing, painting, photography, video, and performance. Her work delves into themes of psychoanalysis, intuition, cognition, human behavior, and emotional development.
Mazzolari pursued her education at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano (NABA) from 1999 to 2001, followed by studies at London's Chelsea College of Art and Design (now part of the University of the Arts London) from 2000 to 2004. Since relocating to London in 2014, she has been actively involved in the art scene, creating contemporary abstract tapestries known as the "Fields" series.
These tapestries serve as materializations of elusive states of mind, inspired by Kurt Lewin’s field theory and Carl Jung’s writings.
They feature a distinctive grey hand-stitched exoskeleton that interacts with light, creating changing depths and luminous illusions.
