ALESSANDRO GIORGI IL VIAGGIO DEL RITORNO

SARP Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition titled Il viaggio del ritorno (Travelling back in time)— by Alessandro Giorgi (b. 1989, Sicily), a new body of work where dream, memory, and myth merge. He transforms and blends ancient symbols into vivid, contemporary narratives.  He explores the intersection of visual storytelling and drawing across different media. 
His adolescence dreams—once fleeting inner visions—now emerge fully formed in his artwork, becoming living fragments of memory. Working across digital media and traditional painting, he often uses oil sticks to create textured, tactile surfaces that echo the layers of personal and mythic history. 
Colourful and emotionally charged, his pieces invite viewers to step inside these remembered worlds, engaging with stories that feel both intimate and timeless. His surfaces pulse with movement—bold strokes of oil stick twisting and rising like stirred constellations of marks. Color becomes a living force: radiant yellows, electric blues, and deep, rhythmic reds collide in vibrant harmony, charging each scene with a sense of inner turbulence and wonder. 
Giorgi imbues his scenes with this heightened sensibility: light doesn’t merely illuminate; it pulses, dissolves, and recomposes forms. Giorgi’s characters embody existential restlessness. They negotiate their identities through bold, swirling gestures of oil stick, their contours dissolving and reforming like still lifes caught in motion. 
The result is a unique fusion: figures suspended between myth and reality, placed inside environments that echo the intimate, shimmering density of daily life.  In Giorgi’s world, the still life becomes a living moment: fleeting, luminous, tenderly observed.
