PAIGE BEEBER IN THE GAME OF THE FORMS

24 September - 10 November 2021

The "nomads of art" (R. Barilli) have revolutionized the aesthetic paradigm, assimilating the existential context and translating it into a language that does not rely on an established model, but is the result of different techniques, often mixed and innovated on the basis of the inner and personal experiences of each of them.

Between the 70s and 80s the philosopher J. Derrida with his ideas managed to permeate and penetrate the most committed layers of American culture and art: it is the deconstruction movement. It represented a real difference, a game of forms in which the imagination is no longer bound by any constraints. It freely presents in new forms to the intellect. The aesthetic perception is profoundly modified. It does not matter that the world is, things really are. It matters that in the world of appearances they are what they should be.
Dekostruzione is a cultural practice that aims to destroy the founding concepts of ontology, to dismantle a knowledge that manifests itself. It is critical to colonialism, to the concept of gender identity, male and female, to race; it is critical of Western culture as a whole and rejects standardisation. The works of Paige Beeber are affected by this aesthetic formation, this metropolitan breath, in which her works find a trace from which to generate itself in an entropy understood as an irrecoverable deterioration of an initial order.
The artist's work is an open work and presents itself to us as a metaphysical multiverse, with multiple directions, always open possibilities like a labyrinth. A world of paths opens up to us, of doors that lead to other exits and other entrances, like a human journey understood as advancement and bewilderment, a loss of oneself in a dynamic and unequal metropolitan society. Looking at her works we find ourselves faced with a wunderkammer in which the viewer finds himself in front of rooms, distant places, spaces that open into other spaces in which implicit time becomes explicit time, but where an event has taken place.
In this game of forms, Paige Beeber does not represent or re-present on the canvas what she sees, the lines and colours seen in the external landscape. She circulates a vital breath in her paintings. She gives vitality and dynamism to nature. She sees reality, that it is perceived not only with her eyes but with her inner soul, her intimacy.
To conclude, she projects herself into the world, penetrating the sense of the phenomenon of the world and grasping it in her own layered concepts of colours, shapes and forms.
