MAX LEITZ INDUSTRIAL ARCHEOLOGY
The exhibition explores Sicilian industrial archaeology, examining abandoned buildings as symbols of political and social shifts, while the rubble reflects territorial transformation and potential for repurposing structures. Max Leitz, a pioneer in contemporary photography after studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, is known for developing a new photographic language. His work, focusing on industrial landscapes, captures the infinite passage of time and connects these spaces with social and environmental concerns. Leitz's precise, clinical approach to photographing public spaces and structures offers a stark contrast to the traditional Italian photography school.
