JOE BLOOM (b. 1995).
Joe Bloom (b. 1995, London) is a painter and filmmaker known for his distinctive artistic exploration of visual storytelling through both mediums. Bloom's work combines bold color palettes and a nuanced understanding of form and texture, often delving into themes of identity, memory, and the human experience.
He began his artistic journey at The Royal Drawing School, where he undertook a Fine Art Foundation course from September 2013 to June 2014. Building on this foundation, Bloom pursued a BA Honours degree in Painting and Printmaking at The Glasgow School of Art, completing his studies in June 2017. His education provided him with a diverse skill set that bridges traditional painting techniques with contemporary filmic experimentation.
As an artist, Bloom’s work spans various mediums, with his paintings often interacting with the moving image, creating an immersive and thought-provoking dialogue between the two. His ability to merge the tactile nature of painting with the fluidity of film has led to his recognition within both the visual arts and film circles.
