RAGNHILD NES WHEN WORDS ATTACK THE VISIBLE
SARP presents "Ragnhild Nes: When Words Attack the Visible, They Are Erased," curated by Truls Blaasmo. Inspired by Sicily’s landscapes and light, Nes explores the island's emotional spirit, following the footsteps of Emily Lowe, an English traveler who celebrated its beauty. Nes’s work merges sensory experiences, reflecting synesthesia, especially after visiting Mount Etna. Her paintings, influenced by Emily Dickinson’s poems, embody the intersection of life, energy, and pain, where colors express emotions and reflections. Nes’s art transcends objects, transforming them into vibrant, expressive visuals that capture fleeting moments without words, conveying her inner language and poetic vision.
